Question:

License for Commercially Distributed Applications?

Dec 27 '12 at 11:51

I am developing a commercial software application. I plan to charge my customers who use it. I have only one developer, and he is using the Qt framework. I need my application to support FTPS (TLS explicit or non-explicit) but Qt does not support this. So I am interested in Chilkat, but I wanted to make sure that if I use Chilkat in my application, I can charge for my application without owing any royalties to Chilkat due to the software utilizing Chilkat.

Answer

The Chilkat licensing is royalty-free. This means that your application's deployment package can include any required Chilkat DLLs (or shared libs) and no royalty fees are charged. The licensing allows for the royalty-free redistribution of Chilkat DLL's and/or shared libs with your app.
